BOOST Support That Helps You Win—and Run the Grant

Steps To Achieve helps BOOST applicants strengthen their outcomes, documentation, and reporting plan—then builds the tracking and reporting system you’ll need if funded.

BOOST is designed to expand structured OST programming for at-risk school-age youth using evidence-based or evidence-informed practices before school, after school, or in summer.

Not grant writing—application review and execution planning (data/reporting/outcomes).

Built for BOOST applicants across program models

  • Program Directors

  • Grant Leads

  • Fiscal/Compliance Staff

  • Data/Reporting Leads

  • Multi-site Networks

  • School-based

  • Community-based

  • District-run

  • Partner-run

  • Multi-site networks

  • Afterschool + Summer

What typically hurts BOOST applications
(and funded projects)

Outcomes are too vague to measure (or don’t match the activities)

Attendance/dosage is inconsistent across sites

“Reporting” is described, but no one can actually run it

Documentation is scattered, making monitoring stressful

BOOST application support (to help you win)

We help you strengthen the parts of the application tied to performance, reporting, and evaluation—so reviewers can see you’re ready to deliver, track, and document results.

  • Clarify your program model (who, what, when, where, staffing)

  • Define attendance, participation, and dosage in plain terms staff can follow

  • Build an outcomes plan aligned to BOOST priorities (social-emotional, academic, career readiness, safe environments, etc.).

  • Create a simple evidence plan (what you’ll collect, when, and how)

  • Tighten the data/ reporting/ evaluation narrative so it’s funder-ready

We don’t write grants—we help you review and strengthen the outcomes/reporting sections so your application is stronger and more executable.

If funded, we set up the system that keeps you compliant

Participation Tracking

Attendance + dosage rules that stay consistent.

Outcomes Tracking System

Simple measures tied to activities and evidence.

Documentation Checklist

What to save, where it lives, and why it matters.

Quarterly Reporting Readiness

Organize program + fiscal reporting cadence early.

Dashboards + Snapshots

Clear summaries for leadership and partners.

Staff Training + Handoffs

So the system doesn’t break with turnover.

Monitoring Prep

Files and summaries that reduce stress.

Continuous Improvement

Practical adjustments based on what data shows.

How the Partnership Works

STEP ONE

BOOST readiness review

We review your draft plan and identify the “must-fix” gaps in outcomes, documentation, and reporting.

STEP TWO

Build the tracking + reporting workflow

We design and support data collection systems to capture and analyze key performance metrics—without creating extra work for sites.

STEP THREE

Ongoing support through reporting cycles

Check-ins, cleanup, and reporting-ready summaries—so nothing piles up at the end.

Practical systems and clear reporting—without complicated processes or jargon-heavy reports.

A few important notes

  • BOOST program requirements and performance measures are managed through PCCD processes and can change during implementation as grantees work with the designated TTA provider.

  • VIP + BOOST projects receive technical assistance supports at no cost through PCCD’s designated provider (WestEd’s Justice & Prevention Research Center).

  • Depending on the solicitation/applicant type, applications may be submitted through different systems (e.g., Egrants for some BOOST solicitations; online form for others). We help you prepare regardless.

Common Questions

Do you write the grant for us?

No. We help you strengthen the outcomes, reporting, documentation, and evaluation parts so the plan is fundable and realistic.

We already have programming planned—do we still need this?

Yes, if your tracking/reporting system isn’t clear. Strong programming still fails when data and documentation are inconsistent.

Can you support multi-site projects?

Yes—this is where systems and consistency matter most.
